Douglas Ball

Douglas Ball is a pharmacist with post-graduate qualifications in the fields of clinical pharmacology and clinical epidemiology. Having been a university educator for more than 10 years and having contributed to the national Drug and Toxicology Information Service in Zimbabwe, he left teaching to concentrate on international development consulting. With particular interest in access to essential medicines including the fields of rational medicines use, formulary and essential medicines list development, and pharmacoepidemiology, he has been part of the collaboration between Health Action International and the World Health Organization in their project on international medicine availability and prices. He has published widely in biomedical journals on topics across the spectrum of his research interests from clinical toxicology to pharmacovigilance.
